Book One

Set in the post 9/11 world, Australia is still a country of relative innocence with our terror threat at medium to low. All that is about to change.

With the Bali bombings, refugee boats on the horizon, and the threat of global terrorism on the increase, the Prime Minister instructs our overseas intelligence agency ASIS (Australian Secret intelligence Service) to activate an independent covert team, designated Section Zulu, to move around our closest Asian neighbours and alert Canberra to any terrorist plans, never realising the enemy could already be inside the fence. When that overseas team Section Zulu, uncovers intelligence of threats to Australia the Prime Minister decides the last line of defence will be a small locally-based covert team that will secretly terminate that threat. Headed by ex-SASR officer Tony McAvin, and together with electronic surveillance experts, the crack team track down homegrown terrorists.

But can the team overcome living and working in a shadowy world of death and deception and still become the force the country so desperately needs.

A team that will not have to answer to anyone but the Prime Minister.

A team that will be totally deniable and covert – and one that will take the fall if and when it all goes wrong.

…that team is called Section Alpha.

Terrorists plotting – Russian drug lords smuggling – Money transfered to overseas accounts linked to North Korean weapons dealers. To stop the enevitable from happening the Section Alpha team must solve the puzzle. They must protect the Australian people at all costs.

Book Two

A fiery car crash. A terrorists mobile phone is retrieved from the wreckage. The contents lead the highly covert Section Alpha team on a journey across continents.

While investigating a planned terrorist attack ex-SAS officer Tony McAvin and his team realise the main suspect has fled to London and operatives are sent in pursuit.

Back in Australia one twist leads to another. Evidence uncovered suggests the attack will be more devastating than first thought.

Section Alpha are not only up against the terrorists but they must endure an attempt by ASIO to obstruct them after their covert existence is discovered.

The team are thrust on a roller-coaster ride of action and deceit. They must work against all odds to ensure the safety of the nation.

The stakes are high.

The Fallout unimaginable.

Writing Section Alpha was something I just had to do. Originally it was conceived as a 6 part television series entitled ‘The Grid’. I pitched it to the television stations 10, 9, 7, but got little interest except from the ABC who considered it for a number of months before declining after a television programme with the same name and very similar storyline suspiciously appeared in the US a year later. I felt this left me with no option. I started toying with the idea of turning it into a book instead. Having never written a book before, the task seemed like an interesting and attractive challenge to take up, it started to take shape but was put aside constantly while we had our last two children. I kept coming back to it as the idea and structure of the storyline was something I couldn’t ignore. After a chance meeting with Matthew Reilly on one of my flights, I was encouraged to take the plunge and get it published. I like to weave fiction around fact, that way the storyline is plausible and it gives it a level of believability and credibility.

Now I have just released the second part, FALLOUT, it’s becoming its own entity as I write the hard hitting third part bombPROOF, or to put it more accurately, it’s writing itself as ideas emerge and the storyline constantly  develops.

SECTION ALPHA is the first book in the series. Please email me a review and I will add it. I thank you in advance for your review.
